LGN - Bergen Radio 90 years !
Special call LA1LGN and LM1LGN

LA1LGN and LM1LGN are special amateur radio callsign used for operation from the operating site of the Coastal Radio Station - LGN - Bergen Radio .
The operation is established to commemorate and honour 90 years of service for ships at sea.
The traditional operating site in Bergen will in the near future be abandoned, but the service will continue remotely controlled from a new location.

Please observe that the call sign LA1LGN will be aired until November 17th.
From November 18th until November 30th the call LM1LGN will be used. Eventual operation after this date will again use LA1LGN. This operation is performed using amateur radio equipment and antennas only.

Radio amateurs, and in particular those who are former radio operators' onboard ships at sea, and who have contacted - LGN - are encouraged to check in.

The radio amateur station is operated by members of the local group of the Norwegian Radio Relay League - NRRL. Several members of the local group have through the years served as operators on LGN, and several more used its services as radio operators from ships at sea.

Contact with the Coastal Radio Station - LGN.

During the weekend 23rd and 24th of November, LGN will be open for traffic with radio amateurs. The operation is planned to take place as follows:

LGN will call radio amateurs on its working frequency 3631 kHz USB, and listen for
calls between 3650 and 3700 kHz. Radio amateur stations may call using CW or USB.
LGN will answer all calls using USB.

The indicated operating hours can be altered due to priority traffic requirements.
Eventual changes will be announced by LGN.

A special QSL card with historical data and pictures from the station , will be issued.
QSL may be sent via the bureau or direct via LA1B.
For direct QSL request, a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) is required.
